The association was first established in 1997 and is a not-for-profit association. The association has a membership of qualified, insured Equine Dental Technicians in Australia and Overseas.

Our aim is to support and promote the welfare of equines from a dental perspective. The EDAA was the original provider of equine dental technician training and assisted in developing the Certificate IV in Equine Dentistry.

Our greatest asset is our members who help provide the vocational training for this unique profession. Their skills and horsemanship in the delivery of humane dental care are renowned worldwide.

EDAA HISTORY

The Association was originally formed on the recommendation of the Victorian Horse Industry Council President Alex Morgan and committee member Colin Bussett.

They were initially formed as two separate identities one in Victoria and NSW. In 1997 the two associations combined to create the Equine Dental Association of Australia as it is known today. The establishment of the association gave the members the security of having a single voice to represent them in sourcing agreements on public liability insurance and standards of operation.
